Welcome to Verrado
Some townhomes, but mostly single-family homes in addition to an active-adult enclave; all are newly built and feature modern conveniences.
A master-planned community that opened in 2004, Verrado broke the mold of cookie-cutter communities that were popular in the Valley. Instead, DMB — Verrado's developer — enlisted groups of homebuilders to create villages that featured homes with front porches and tree-lined streets resulting in a community that feels much more 1940s-ish than 21st-century.
The Neighbors
Residents who want to get away from the bustle of the city and feel closer to their communities and their neighbors.
Verrado is more than 10 years old, but it's not finished yet. At complete build-out, more than 14,000 homes are expected for its 8,800 acres. By the time it's finished, Verrado will include single-family-home villages, townhome-condominium communities, an active-adult lifestyle community and private custom-home enclaves. In essence, it will function as its own contained city.
What To Expect
New homes with modern amenities, all built in a small-town neighborhood format.
Because it only was established in 2004, buyers are guaranteed to find a home in Verrado that's new or nearly new. Homes in the community typically meet higher energy-efficiency standards and feature open floorplans with gourmet kitchens and bright, airy spaces. While the home might have the look of a 1930s bungalow, it will be built to meet modern construction standards and include all the storage and conveniences expected in new homes.
What Not To Expect
A quick trip to the city; Verrado is 25 miles from downtown Phoenix via the busy Interstate 10 freeway.
When it was first developed, Verrado felt much further away than 25 miles from downtown Phoenix. But today, it's a grown-up community that has amenities to sustain daily life. A "main street" area has a grocery store, shopping, eateries, a bank and even a health club. The community has golf courses, schools and a variety of recreational and social clubs covering everything from astronomy to scrapbooking.
The Lifestyle
Quaint and neighborly, Verrado is built around a series of walkable villages that encourage community interaction.
Homes in Verrado run the gamut, from lofts and condominiums to luxury custom homes set along the community's lush golf course.
You'll Fall In Love With
Front porches, walkable neighborhoods and a small-town feel.
The White Tank Mountains pose as a massive boundary in the West part of the Valley. Verrado sits at the foot of these mountains. Some properties are positioned higher in elevation making for a stunning combination of desert elegance and nature. Soft hills and valleys in Verrado lend to a contrast in landscape from the flatter scenery to the East.
