Welcome to Willo Historic Distric

Homes in the Willo District, located west of First Avenue to Seventh Avenue, situated north of McDowell Road to south of Thomas Road, were first constructed in the early 1900s and feature a variety of architectural designs including bungalow, Tudor, American Colonial Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival and ranch-style homes.

As the city of Phoenix grew, the quiet suburb and valuable land gained interest from commercial developers in the 1980s, which inspired residents to rally for a conservation district and protect its historic status. Today, the Phoenix Preservation Historic Office governs home renovations and upgrades to Willo District homes in an effort to maintain historic appeal.

The annual Willo Historic Home Tour draws visitors valley-wide for a unique experience of touring Phoenix's most famed classic, traditional, ranch, and modern homes. Guests are granted full access to explore homes and enjoy the street fair ambience, complete with music and food.
